Still Buying Bikes ... damn it
Sep. 11th, 2008 10:59 pmWell I haven't been able to secure my dream Fazer so I am moving on and
hoping that now summer is over I can find a bike a bit cheaper. I have a list
of bikes near and far I am looking at from anywhere from £575 to £1395. The
bikes nearby are 2 Yamaha FZS Fazer (00/98), Yamaha TDM 850 97, Honda
CB500 2000. Going a bit futher away are the Suzuki Bandit 97 in Derby, a
Kawasaki GPZ500 and a Yamaha Fzr 400.
The most expensive fzs fazer and the CB500 are the closest and the TDM
is in bradford. The fazer has a full service history and 25k miles. The CB500
has a few battle scars and high miles but I am told thats not uncommen for
that sort of bike. The TDM is suspiciously completely undamaged which
considering its sat in a bike breakers seems dubious but i assume its a
recovered theft and will have no log book or something (but the 850cc
engine might be a bit thirsty fuel wise anyway). I am seriously considering
the CB500 though as I felt very comftable on it when doing my initial DAS
much more so than the the CBF500 which just felt tempremental (though
that might have been the level of used the bikes seen, the CBF was a big
schools bike, where as the CB was a one man band trainer) but the CB500
just felt effortless to adjust to, but I could see me upgrading in 6-12 months
with the CB.

Leaving Cromwell Part Two
Sep. 3rd, 2008 09:14 amWhen I left Cromwell last week they decorated my bike, people often used to
joke about (because its a 125cc motorcycle) that it needed pink streamers,
girlie bow and a pink plastic basket on the front. So just to prove the some
people that work at Cromwell still retain their sense of humour here is the
pictorial evidence.
( decorated bike )
Its that kind of sense of humour I'll miss about Cromwell.

Finally!!!!
Sep. 2nd, 2008 04:30 pmYes, that was the Department of Work and Pensions and I am good to start on
Thursday. All the last security checks came back and its offical that I am a good
and wholesome citizen of Her Majestys United Kingdom of Great Britian
(apparently) and now allowed to offically start work (I feel like I should have a
starting work party considering the mount of effort its taken). My bags are all
packed so I have clothes enough. I will pack the rest of my worldly belongings
into suitcases and then that just leaves a few things to sort out.
I am thinking a very early start tomorrow driving up North, so I can have a
pootle around Leeds to familerise myself with the route to work *yay* that
just leaves living arrangements which are unavoidably delayed, moving
and storage of my furniture (of which i have some ideas) and the orginisation
of the finance on and collection of the new bike. I can't beleive things are
finally moving forward again.

I Hate Compters ...
Aug. 28th, 2008 12:48 amNo Really ... I got a PC years ago and there where crashes and viruses and all manner
of bad. I thought I'll give the Mac a try and got a macbook, and yes it crashes just as much
as the sodding pc's did, the lazy fucktard web developers don't bother testing code for use
on the mac (tbh they don't even attempt multpile browsers never mind browsers on diffrent
OS's) personally I think I should send my Winged Monkeys to DEAL! with them, all of them.

Fucking Gutted
Jul. 29th, 2008 02:05 pmWell I got a fail, how I hear you ask with a years worth of riding experince did
I manage that, well it wasn't the u-turn that went smoothly as can be. I was the
emergency stop improper useof brakes (translated: the back wheel left a skid
mark). To be fair as soon as i hit the brakes i knew i'd hit them too hard *stoopid*
and then to make matters worse, I started doing my life savers to move the bike
to the kerb (i'd always assumed this to be one manouver) and he was telling me
his orratory while i was preforming lifesavers. Because I'd not done them again
after him finishing that was two serious faults which is a fail. I had 6 minors 3
for rear observation on change of direction, one for steering (ended up too far
from the kerb on a left turn) and one for contol on moving off. My two serious
where control on the controled stop and saftey checks when moving the bike
to the kerb. Its a stupid thing to fail on because I can do them in the year riding
I've done 4 emergancy stops (well not really because I always have ample
space to slow down with the gears before engaging the front and rear brake to
come to a full controlled stop) *arrrgghhh* damn it.
Other than that it was a very good and very safe ride according to the examiner
and my instructor even said its unfortunate because i am a good rider and I am
capable and it was a shame to fail on something like that. So time to to re-book
i will sit in the doledrums tonight, but the test is getting fecking re-booked asap
and this time I am going to pass the fecker, and make sure my riding is sodding
imaculate.
[Edit]
Great, there are no test dates left in leicester, there are some in nottingham but
I don't know if a) my instructor would go there, and b) i wouldn't have any idea
about the route (that actually borther me less as long as there are road signs etc).

Visitations
Jul. 11th, 2008 01:26 amWell the lovely ebb popped round to night for film and food. I cooked Italian
it was originally Leek rissoto, but as its made with chicken stock I figured some
actual real chicken in it wouldn't hurt and added that too. All in all i was quite
pleased with the result, i should really cook more random stuff mind you the
rissoto was stupidly easy to make.
I am actually feeling rather chilled which is partially good company and talking
things over and gennerally talking at people and I do feel like i've been a bit of
stressed out misery guts recently, but hopefully i can pack that in and just have
some fun now. You know my life isn't perfect at the moment, but its still pretty
damn fine :)
Now do I drive the 52 miles and 1 hour 27 minutes to Worksop to look at this
GS500 off eBay? Hmmmmm not sure.

Thoughts in meme form
Jun. 6th, 2008 01:06 amPick six qualities, find a quote about that quality you like or that you feels applies
to your life and then write a little about your thoughts/feelings/opinions on it.
... yes i am that bored and thinking too much for 1:05am
( the meme thing nonsense ... )

now i've been awake from 3am with only 1 1/2 hours sleep and the internet has fecking
borked again, might as well get up, do my morning exersises, drink coffe pack the bike
and go to work an hour early today as well. At least there I'll have internet (maybe do
some more job searching in Leeds). If i get the job in York I might consider living in leeds
anyway spent the last few hours looking at houseshares and houses/flats. Houseshares
are very good (apart from the strangers) but financially it makes sense (esspecially if
i get the york job and take an 8k paycut). I'd say living on your own has benefits but I
haven't been living on my own for over ... a lot of months, and i'm still not because johns
still here so maybe I could share again. What worries me are the rental prices of some of the
houses in Leeds, might indicitive of a bad area? Although there was a two bedroom house
at Ashton View for £475.00 per month which is what I am paying here roughly and that
always seemed like a fairly nice area when I've been visiting.
Still not made any decisions, but I think I am going to actively start looking for a new job
probabaly based around Derbyshire, up through chesterfield, sheffield and onwards
to Leeds. I wouldn't normally consider York as it seems a bit small for my tastes but the
job there sounds great if i can get it.
Anyway on to work, and then ... WOOLSTOCK!!! Party on dudes :)

1. Think of the first word that comes to mind when you think of me.
2. Go to Google Images and search for that word.
3. Reply to this post with one of the pictures on the first page of results (don't tell me the word).
(The html for images is < img src="htmlhere" > with no spaces between the code and the pointy brackets)
4. Put this in your own journal so that I can do the same to you.

Comment and I will:
1. Tell you why I befriended you.
2. Associate you with something -
fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
3. Tell you something I like about you.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
6. Tell you my favourite user pic of yours.
7. In return, you must post this in your LJ
Comments screened (comment if you want them to remain so)
as usual, might take me a while to get through my replys :)

Well, got back from whitby last night at around 16:00 hours roughly, ate some Kentucky Fried
Chicken and failed at chatting online and promptly hits the sack at 8pm woke up at midnight
and went right back to sleep and then finally arose today at about 9am. so roughly 12-13 hours
sleep. I feel significantly less shitty now.
Whitby was full of fun and games and as usual I could expouse a long list of people I seen
there and a blow by blow account of what happened but I won't. So highs and lows.
High Points
Me and Chewie utterly failing to have a half of coke and hit the gym and instead having 6 pints
and taking our luggage to our respective cottages so we could drink more.
Running up the 199 steps of the abbey as training 4 times.
80's night including
bikerfaerie's fantastic Barbarella Costume and of course chewie
as pygar.
Maffball Super Extreme - One reason to actually wear pants, as its is played in underpants I may
have had to borrow some in order to qualify to play. Hence the Maffball Super Extreme Battlepants
came into play. I am still toasty in places but I feel that your maffballs cannot burn me my
bodyhair is like a shield of ... well ... bodyhair. Videos of Maffball.
Meeting up with people not seen in ages and lots of people from far and wide.
The Melee that is breakfast in our cottage (pure comedy every morning)
Making fun of someone for Exorsist Style Vomiting at 4:30am.
Low Points
Being ill as buggery on saturday.
cleaning up someone elses Exorsist Style Vomit at 4:30am.
Running up the 199 Abbey Steps 4 times (that shits hard work).
Drinking a little too much and having vauge memories of the weekend.
I am sure more stuff happened but i can't remember what it is ;)
